We would rather be corrected than wrong. If a number, date, rule or explanation on this site is incorrect or out of date, please tell us through the contact form (choose “Correction”) or at [email protected]. Include the page and, if you can, the source that shows the right answer.
What happens next
- We check the claim against the primary source, usually within a few business days.
- Confirmed factual errors are fixed on the page right away.
- Corrections that change a figure, a rule or a conclusion are listed below with the date. Typos and broken links are fixed without a log entry.
- Routine data updates, such as a new weekly mortgage rate, are not corrections and are not logged.
Corrections log
| Date | Page | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| Older articles | Removed “2026” from the headlines of 20 articles first published in 2021–2023. Their headlines had been updated to the current year without the articles being rewritten, which overstated how current they were. Several dated, off-topic articles were also taken out of search. | |
| Data pages | Pages built from our data files no longer show a new “updated” date each night. The date now moves only when a figure changes. |
