Privacy Policy
Digest Your Finances (“we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you visit digestyourfinances.com, why we collect it, and the control you have over it. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and understand what's useful.
The short version
- We don't sell your personal information.
- Analytics and marketing cookies stay off until you allow them in our cookie banner.
- We only ask for your email if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter.
What we collect
Information you give us
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address (and, optionally, your first name). That's handled by our email provider, Kit (formerly ConvertKit), and used only to send you the Digest. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time.
Information collected automatically
With your consent, analytics tools collect standard, mostly anonymized data — pages visited, approximate location (country/region), device and browser type, and how you reached the site. This is aggregate usage data; we use it to see which articles help people and where the site can improve. Without consent, these tools do not set cookies or identify you.
Cookies & tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, analytics, and marketing. They are governed by your choice in our cookie banner and described in full on our Cookie Policy page. You can change your choice any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.
We use Google Consent Mode, which means Google's tools default to a no-cookie, denied state until you opt in.
Third parties we rely on
- Google Analytics 4 — site usage measurement.
- Microsoft Clarity — aggregate usage insights.
- Pinterest — marketing/conversion measurement.
- Kit — newsletter email delivery.
- Affiliate networks — when you click an affiliate link, the partner may set its own cookie to credit a referral. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
- Cloudflare — hosts the site and processes basic server logs for security and reliability.
Each of these has its own privacy policy governing the data it processes.
Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email us at [email protected]. You can also:
- Change cookie consent any time via Cookie settings.
- Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any newsletter.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Data retention
Analytics data is retained according to each provider's defaults. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. When we do, we'll revise the “last updated” date above.
